Aurana Darkmoon did have just a little too much to drink and doesn’t remember much from when she did, though at least she doesn’t really have a hangover. She is wandering down the street after having gotten up. She did probably sleep in a little more than she needed to. She hasn’t been in Dogwood that often, so she is sort of exploring a bit.
Someone who also had a little too much to drink…or a /lot/ too much to drink…is one Maddy Harrower. The blonde is lying in the middle of the road and snoring loudly. Drool down her cheek which may or may not be her own. She is dressed in a tight t-shirt and short shorts; she should be thankful she is still dressed. Maddy is, however, shoeless. A loud honk from a vehicle which at least stopped rather than run over her causes Maddy’s eyes to flicker open.
Aurana Darkmoon blinks a bit as she hears the honk and glances around. She spies the reason the vehicle stopped and heads over that way. She looks down, “Probably not the best place to take a nap.” she offers and then smiles and offers a hand to help her up.
“Nap? Nah…I was checking some wiring on a hover car and…umm…what happened to the hover car?” Maddy takes the offered hand. “And when did it get so bright?” She struggles slowly to her feet, eyes narrowing against the light. “And someone hit me on the head. It’s throbbing. I need a drink.” A lick of dry lips as she peers around for a bar and then glances down. “Damn! My boots went home without me.”
Aurana Darkmoon cocks her head to the side and nods, “Yeah…lets go with that story.” she shakes her head, “So probably need to get some new boots first and cleaned up a bit.”
Maddy is currently being helped to her feet by Aurana after the former was found sleeping on the street…in the middle of it…and about to be run over by a vehicle. The blonde waves off the car once she is out of the way. “You could have gone around!! Jerk!” She gives him the finger…and then another one…before staggering towards the sidewalk with Aurana. “But I have boots. They just left but they’ll be back.” Maddy has also lost her boots. Realising there is drool on her cheek, she wipes it off with her hand and looks at it. “Hmm…don’t think that’s my drool. How’ve you been, Aurana?”
Aurana Darkmoon shakes her head, “Alright, at least I thought so, and you?” she asks as she looks Maddy over, showing just a bit of concern as she does, “The boots will come back?”
Ronin is walking out of one of the guildhalls, adjusting his cowboy hat and removes a pair of aviator sunglasses from the inside of his leather trenchcoat, slipping them on. It doesn’t matter if it isn’t that bright out, he likes to wear them just cause. He is dressed in his usual attire, northern gun Maverick Riding armor, a black leather trench coat, his two pistols holstered at either hip, a laser pistol in a shoulder holster under his left arm and a sheathed vibro blade on his back with a Katana style hilt. He is about to cross the street, when he notices Maddy getting helped up by Aurana. Two familiar faces, at the same time is almost too much of a coincidence. He walks over to the two ladies, tipping his hat in greeting. “You two alright? Miss Maddy…uh, you’ve seemed to have lost your boots.” He nods looks to Aurana, “How have you been?”
“Why does everyone say that?” Maddy pouts at Ronin as he appears. “Doesn’t everyone else’s boots come back when they walk off? I mean, that’s what they do right? Walk.” A shake of her head at how silly they are to ask such things. “Do you know Ronin, Aurana? Oh…guess you do.” Maddy is in tight t-shirt and short shorts but at least they’re still on her body. “We’re going for a drink, Ronin. My head is throbbing and that will help. See, Aurana, it is bright. Ronin needs sunglasses. I need sunglasses too. What happened to my goggles?”
Aurana Darkmoon shakes her head a bit, “Should just adjust your eyes so that its like wearing sunglasses.” she says and it is almost a bit cryptical. She cocks her head to the side and dips her head to Ronin, “Been well I think.” she looks back to Maddy and shrugs.
“Your goggles…you lost them too?” Benny replies with a slight upturn of his lips, which looks kinda like a smirk. He hasn’t been this amused since he last bumped into Maddy, which is a luxury taciturn gunfighters like himself rarely enjoy since he’s so serious most of the time. “Maddy…I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone quite like you.” He says this in a complimentary tone. “A drink eh? Well, I’m a bit thirsty so I could use a drink and bite to eat so if you don’t mind the extra company that is?” He turns his attention to Aurana once more. “Good to hear. Keeping outta trouble? How did that job with the Pirates go if you mind me asking?”
“Pirates?” Maddy adjusts her eyes by squinting them almost closed. She’s not sure it helps much. “Someone lead me to the bar. Yeah, no idea where my goggles went. They don’t come back because, you know, they don’t walk. Pretty obvious I would think.” She stumbles forward a few steps before gasping in horror and pointing at a group of street thugs near an alley entrance. “He has my boots!! He must have grabbed them as they were heading back to Tits. Well…this shall not stand! And he won’t stand in my boots!” Hands balling into fists she strides for the three men.
Aurana Darkmoon chuckles a bit and then shakes her head, “Well it’s sort of ongoing, still working on it a bit.” she says and then nods to Maddy, “There are some Horune that are causing problems, bounty on them.” she says and then follows after Maddy, just in case she needs help.
Ronin raises an eyebrow at Maddy’s comments about her goggles not being able to walk. “Riiiigggghhhht.” He nods at Aurana in reply to the pirate job. “Well, I’m sure you will track them down soon enough. They generally make quite the ruckus after a score, so one of them is bound to get drunk, do something stupid and that will lead you right to them.” He blinks, when Maddy exclaims that some thugs have her boots and shakes his head, sighing under his breath but follows along with Aurana to make sure that Maddy isn’t getting herself into too much /trouble/.
“Hey, Wartface!” Maddy screams at the large guy wearing her boots – how do they even fit? Assuming they /are/ her boots of course. “I want my boots back!” She thrusts her face in his…albeit he is a foot taller so she is more yelling at his throat. But she’s building up quite the lather. The men are at first surprised and then they laugh at the shrieking blonde. Probably not the best move. The giant man pushes her away. “Get lost” he growls. “You and your lapdogs.”
Aurana Darkmoon cocks her head to the side, “Lapdog, I would apologize if I was you.” she says and keeps a smile on her face the whole time. She is a small waif of a girl, but there is something in her eyes.
“Big words, from a small mind…why don’t you pick on someone only slightly taller than she is.” Benny quickly moves to catch Maddy or at least help her regain her balance as she’s pushed, then steps in front of her to look up at the giant thug with the boots that /may or may not/ be Maddy’s. He removes his sunglasses, tucking them into an inner pocket of his leather jacket, then takes a slightly bladed stance with his hands raised up to his chest, his fingertips touching together almost like in prayer. To those trained in martial arts or unarmed fighting, it’s not quite a full fighting stance but he can certainly defend or attack from this position. “I suggest you apologize to the lady and mind your manners.” he says in a very serious but respectful tone. Ronin isn’t very intimidating in stature, standing only 5’8″ tall with a lean muscular build but the way he carries himself and those weapons he has on him, may be a clue to those who have heard of gunfighters.
Maddy starts growling. Full on growling. A feral look on her face as eyes narrow and then suddenly she is charging forward. She leaps into the air and onto the guy with her boots (maybe). Legs wrap around him before he even knows what is going on and she starts raining blows on his head with her fists. And then tries to bite off his nose; teeth digging into the flesh. Needless to say he screams and does his best to get the madwoman off. His big hands bashing and grabbing at her.
Ronin is a bit taken back by the ferocity of Maddy’s assault on boots thug, but knows there isn’t time to mull things over and reacts instinctively when a fight breaks out. He’s experienced enough to know, that once the biggest guy is attacked in the group, his friends either turn tail and run or jump in to help. He doesn’t take any chances to let them gang up on Maddy, so he attacks the closest thug to him, his hands move, throwing a combination one two, jab and hook followed by a low kick to the lead leg of thug#2. The thug blocked the first jab, ate the hook to the head and then his knee buckled from the low kick. “Gaahh…get em!” the second thug yells out to the third.
“Get her off me! Get her off me!” yells the boot thief as the third thug leaps to his aid, wrapping his arms around Maddy and doing his best to pull her away. But it doesn’t look like she’s budging. Her nails digging into her targets back after tearing through his clothes. His big fists slamming into her ribs and there is a crack of bone that she ignores in her desire to rip his nose off with teeth. Blood seeping into her mouth as her teeth grind.
Ronin see’s that Maddy is getting ganged up on in his peripheral vision, blocking a wild haymaker punch by the Thug he’s engaged with, then steps forward throwing three punches, a right straight punch to the nose, a left to the jaw and the a right short hook punch to the temple which drops the man to his knees. Instead of finishing the man off, he runs at the third thug who is trying to pull Maddy off the big boots guy and pushes him away from her with a flying knee strike. “Maddy look out!”
Maddy isn’t sure what she’s supposed to be looking out for. And to do so would ruin her ability to hurt this guy so she just clings there – being beaten as she tears and scratches at her prey. Suddenly there is no one on her back at least. With a last crunching of bone she pulls her head back and the spits out the tip of the man’s nose before dropping to the ground. A maniac grin on her face as she looks up to see him clutching at his nose. “Fine…have them. Have them!” He pulls off his boots and hurls them at her before making good a strategic withdrawal.
Ronin gets tagged a few times, once in the face and one to the stomach while taking on two thugs but he hurt the third one, busting his nose and the second thug is limping with a busted face. “Fuck this, we are outta here.” They both take off following behind the big, noseless and bootless juice monkey. Ronin, adjusts his cowboy hat and walks over to retrieve the boots the thug threw as they retreated. He picks them up and holds them out to Maddy. “Your boots…” He glances behind him, to make sure that the thugs have really fled and are not coming back around with reinforcements. “I suggest you put them on and then let’s go get that drink. I’m real thirsty now…”
Maddy takes the boots, her grin showing off bloodstained teeth, and slips them on. Immediately she frowns again. “Oh…he’s stretched them. They’re too big now.” The blonde is not happy! A sigh as she rips them off and tosses them onto the street. “I guess Aurana was right, I need some new boots.” She gets back to her feet, bouncing a little on them. “But we need a drink first! And where did Aurana go?”
Ronin rubs at his forehead, wanting so badly to facepalm but he refrains. “Yeah…big feet tend to do that too boots unfortunately. Getting a new pair might not be the same but they will be almost as good once you break them in.” he says with a sigh, then looks at Maddy with a concerned expression as he notices your injuries. “You okay, kid? Maybe we should go to the doc first, check you out and then get a drink afterwards?” He blinks and then glances around after you mention Aurana. “Huh, I have no idea…we will have to ask her next time we see her.” He doesn’t sound pleased about her disappearance right before they get into fisticuffs.
“I’m fine” Maddy shrugs…which immediately causes her broken rib to disagree. “Ouch! Umm…do you know any doctors? But, hey, we had fun right? Ewww…I think I got snot in my mouth. Let’s go.”
After a hard night, Maddy wakes up in the middle of the street to find her boots missing. Luckily she has friends to help her find them.
