"Gods! That fricking Loki litterally made a horse's ass out of me!"
Kae was well, she was Kullen when born 21 years ago. A normal human male. He has three other siblings two brothers and a sister. One brother is older, one younger, his sister is also older, this really putting him squarely in the middle. Nothing really stood out for him, except some magical ability. His life was pretty normal for someone living in Vesper and all. He did chores, worked on tasks, as his family were craftsfolk, dad was a black smith, mother a leather worker. Eventually his magical aptitude was discovered, and his family started paying for him to get lessons.
He went to the school in vesper's arcane academy, something his family could only barely afford but they did. He even got a job at a nearby tavern to make all the spare money he could. It was one fateful day, after he'd finished a long shift that he decided to party with his friends. The beer flowed, so did other various drinks. Another couple people joined in. One fellow with dark hair, seemingly a pair of horns, and a wierd staff. He was tipsy, this guy could party and well they all had fun together, drinking and telling tales.
And so a group of people came in the main entrance, this being partially blocked by a half air wall. Where Kullen noticed an extremely beautiful woman, or at least he could see her torso. It didn't dawn on him that this woman stood head and shoulders over most folk there... Still he mutterd to the new fellow "God I'd like to get me some of that." This dark hared indivual smiled and kept on asking questions, most of which Kullen didn't and doesn't remember.
More drinking and eventually Kullen is helped home, still talking to his new dark-haired buddy, who even helps him inside and gets him into the bed in his apartment... The next day things got really wierd. Everything felt wierd, the way -her- legs moved, rump moved, the tail.. wait tail? At that point Kullen, now Kaelyn woke up, looking down to notice that not only did she have a massive chest, but the rest of her was positively huge. She was on her back and her fore-legs were bycicling in the air while her back legs kicked a bit...
Wait? Four legs? And each tipped with a very large feathered hoof... Her legs were highlighted black... Eventually she'd roll onto her side and look better... And at that point screamed like a banshee... She'd been turned into a very large dapple-bodied centauress.. After the brief confusion and all, and eventually it was determined by her teachers she'd been affected by a powerful extradimensional being. One was even able to identify them based on Kaelyn's description, but mostly on the elegant letter written to Kaelyn.
~Thanks for a wonderful and entertaining evening. I hope my boon finds you well, and you enjoy it for many centuries. I will enjoy looking in on you now and then. I've made sure you are mentally capable of making the adjustment to your new life. I can't have my new and utterly beautiful new friend running into too many troubles getting on with her life.
Your Mysterious Friend
Loki of Asguard"
After reading it Kae blinked a few times... And the first thing she shouted at that time was.. "Wait?!? I went on a bender with Loki?!?" She was so mentally adjusted to her current body, she was more worried at the time she went on a Bender with an elder god...
At that point there was a little bit of ghostly laughter, which startled her self and her teachers at that point before it faded. Yup she was still being watched at that point... This was given away as another letter drifted to the now huge and extremely buxome centaur. "Yup and you were a lot of fun dear, and great in bed." More laughter and Kaelyn now starred at the new letter.
Her teacher tried to get her attention, calling her Kullen, before she responded "Kaelyn.." Then another little hammer hit... "Wow I've been massively mickeyed by an elder god..." She stated.
Her next few years were dominated with studies on her person and attempts to turn her back. Each attempt failed, and each time she ended up with a slight adjustment to her body. Maybe a bit bigger over all, taller, more muscle, sometimes slightly less. Sometimes a bigger chest, never smaller... Eventually everyone just gave up for the moment trying to turn her back.
Lets not mention the suprise her family had when she went home and the news was broke to them. It was a bit of bedlam there. Her mother on the other hand thought it wonderful they got a new daughter. Needless to say shopping was interesting, but at least she didn't have to look far for horse shoes and tack.
Kae was blessed by Loki. She recieved a draft centaur Mare's body, and the enhanced physical abilities and senses that come with. Also as a result of the blessing she's gained a great deal of magical prowess and ability.
Invoke: Kae invokes this concept every time she uses her enhanced abilities or magic. From pulling a cart, or a plow, to casting some spell.
Compel: Loki granted to Kae what Loki thought Kae should have after making that comment. Occasionally Loki likes to make sure Kae is using the gift he gave her, should she not be using it, Loki may force her to do such.
Kae somehow drew Loki's attention. Even garnered his blessing. As such her form is pretty immutable as she's Loki's ideal centauress. Also Loki loves to check in on his friend and plaything every now and then. This can cause trouble at times. Not to mention, the nature of the energies put into Kae have made her take on a slight aspect of the god of mischief. Sometimes she's rather mischievious her self
Invoke: Kae, has a hard time resisting the call to create some mischief. Also Loki sometimes visits her and creates a little chaos around the Centaur.
Compel: Kae is watched by an elder norse god. The one of Mischief, while her freedom is all but assured, she oft finds her self doing things to entertain Loki, or sometimes other norse gods.
Kaelyn wasn't born a 9+ foot tall centaur. As such she often has a big trouble with her spatial awareness. Still sometimes that size can work to her advantage.
Invoke: When things need lifting or pulling, her size can be useful.
Compel: Kae can be a bit of a bull in a china closet, or in this case draft horse. It's just as big right?
Major Gateway: Mage, Ley Line Wizard (Cost 1)
Masters of the Ley Lines and conventional spell magic, the Ley Line Wizards are what most people think of when they think of casters.
Arcane Fundamentals: (cost 0)
For those schools of magic that deal in study and learning – which is most of them – this Purview is often the first a new mage is taught. It’s a pretty mixed lot in general. Basic energy manipulation, basic armor spells, basic telekinesis, basic countermagic. The key word in there is ‘basic’. These are all things that are either relatively easy to teach neophyetes or essential to their future success and survival. As a rule, they tend to scale fairly well as a mage grows in knowledge. Very few people ever regret learning the fundamentals.
Lore of the Ley Lines, LLW only (cost 0)
The flows of magic and in particular the phenomena of Ley Lines were a complete mystery to humankind when they erupted to live three hundred years ago. Since then, Ley Line Wizards have studied them extensively and while there are plenty of mysteries yet to be uncovered, they’ve learned much. Spells from the Lore of the Ley Lines utilize those lines in any number of ways from communication to teleportation to to protection. In general, though, these spells only work when on or near a line. Since lines can be anywhere from a quarter mile to two miles across and dozens to hundreds to thousands of miles long that’s often less difficult than it seems.
Alterations (Cost 0)
Alterations: Altering the mortal form is one of the more difficult things a mage will ever attempt. This is largely because most mortal forms have their own magic and that magic can get in the way even when the subject is willing, to say nothing of when the subject is not. Consequently spells in the Alternations Purview are almost entirely spells that are applied to the mage himself or perhaps with great and ideal circumstances to another willing subject. Even with that restriction though, Alterations is an incredibly versatile field of study. Near any adjustment to the body that can be imagined can be made, though they tend to be temporary.
Arcane Defense (Cost 1)
Arcane Defense: Whether it’s defense against attack or the elements, Arcane Defense is the study of protecting oneself and others from harm. Some of these lessons are learned in the basic spells that many casters study, but these are different animals all together. Whether putting up mystical walls, sheltering companions from a storm or drawing a circle to keep out supernatural evil the watchwords of this Purview are simple: You shall not pass.
Blessings: (Cost 1)
Boons meant to enhance, lift up and empower are the province of those spells collectively known as blessings. The range of effects these spells can produce is rather staggering but they’re all united by the common theme of empowering or aiding someone or something. Many mages like to use these spells on themselves – in fact there are a number of these spells that are only possible to use on themselves. Others use them to enable servants or companions to perform in situations where they don’t otherwise have the means.
Minor Gateway: Lesser Dimensional Being (cost 2)
As a result of her runin with a greater Norse God. And the resulting blessing and transformation, Kae is for lack of a better term an other worldly or other dimensional creature. Her connection to teh Aesir makes her quite a bit more than just a normal being.
Quirk: "Sure Footed" (cost 0)
Sure of Foot: +2 to Athletics for Overcome actions that require a physical challenge
Quirk: "Fleet of Hoof" (cost 0)
Centaurs are horses from the waste down. As such they can run extremely fast and for long periods of times. They get+2 to Athletics or Physicality as appropriate, when running in any contest of speed or endurance.
Quirk: "Strong as a Horse" (cost 0)
Centaurs are litterally as strong as a horse, epsecially from the waste down. What folks might not know is their torsos and arms are just as strong, some taurs able to litterally lift their hind quarters off the ground with their arms. As it stands you may spend a fate point to gain +2 to any physique roll where strength is in play.
Extras: Greater Physicality (Cost 2)
You gain armor 5, an extra mild physical consequence slot, an extra moderate physical consequence slot, the normal physical stress track is replaced with the following: 2x 1, 2x 2, 2x 3, 2x 4, 1x 5, 1x 6. Your fight attacks are weapon 2 due to natural weapons or great strength. Your physique cap is increased to 6 and you gain +2 on overcome actions using raw strength.
Extras: Greater Healing (Cost 2)
You recover from physical consequences in half the usual time and may begin their recovery without any justification. Once per conflict you may roll physique and clear that amount of physical stress from your track.
